Trout fishing is permitted during the dates Oct. 15 – June 30
A valid State of Alabama Fishing License is a separate and extra cost and must be current for each fisherperson to complete registration. Alabama State fishing licenses can be purchased online at https://www.outdooralabama.com/license-information or at the Coosa Landing Bait Shop.
Trout Permits can also be purchased at the Kiwanis Pavilion office.
The Trout Permits need to be easily accessible at all times when you are fishing in Black Creek.
Trout Permits can be checked at any time when requested by staff or a volunteer.
Fishing will be allowed between dawn and dusk each day from October 15 – June 30
This is a catch and release program until April 30th.
Only fly fishing rods can be used, no spinning rods. Only use artificial flies, no crankbait, no bass lures or anything similar, no live bait, and no food bait. Fishing hooks must be debarbed and cannot be a multi-hook lure. We ask everyone to respect the trout, fishermen/women, and others using the gorge while fishing.
NO WADING in the water while fishing.
